Now, there’s all sorts of these bricks, mind you. Endicott, they got a whole bunch to pick from. Different shapes, sizes, the way they feel – rough or smooth, you name it. It’s like pickin’ out apples at the store, only these don’t go bad. You gotta figure out what looks good for your place, what you like. Me, I like the plain ones, the ones that look like good ol’ brick, nothin’ fancy. But some folks, they like the ones with all the swirls and bumps. To each their own, I say.
So, where do you put these brick thingamajigs? Well, pretty much anywhere, it seems. Lots of folks make a little patio out back, a place to sit and drink some sweet tea. Or they make a walkway, so you ain’t trackin’ mud into the house. I’ve even seen people make a whole driveway outta them! Must be nice not havin’ to deal with gravel and potholes all the time. And if you’re feelin’ real fancy, you can make a little circle around a tree or somethin’. Spruce things up a bit, you know?
Now, how do you go about gettin’ these bricks in place? Well, like I said, it ain’t rocket science. First, you gotta dig out the dirt, make a nice flat spot. Then you put down some sand or gravel, tamp it down good and tight. That’s important, or your bricks will be all wobbly. Then you just start layin’ the bricks, fittin’ ’em together like a puzzle. You might need to cut some of ’em to fit, but that ain’t too hard. And when you’re done, you sweep some sand in between the cracks, helps keep everything in place and stops the weeds from growin’. At least, that’s how I’ve seen the fellas do it.
Endicott, they make good bricks, from what I hear. They been around a while, so they must know what they’re doin’. But there’s other brands too, I reckon. Just gotta shop around, see what’s what. And don’t be afraid to ask questions, even if you feel a little silly. Better to ask than to mess it up and have to do it all over again. That’s what I always say, anyway.
